My clients bought the site with various restrictions on the design, one of which was that the vendors, who would continue to live next door, would prefer a single storey dwelling to be built. However a large number of mature trees on the site restricted the area available to build on. The scheme we came up with was for a central 2-story section with habitable roof-space either side. The house is built in hand-made bricks with a clay pantiled roof.
